Charge toad battery from M/H?

I just installed an Even Brake in our Honda CRV. Drove 1400 miles in 3 days. Brake worked fine but toad battery went dead on 3rd day. Not sure if it was totally the fault of the Even Brake or due to the requirement to start the CRV every 8 hrs to go through the gears. The CRV is run for about 5 minutes, then shut off. Might not be adequate time to recharge the CRV battery from starting the engine. I am thinking of running power and ground wires from the motorhome' house battery via a battery isolator to the CRV battery to allow the M/H charging system to recharge the CRV battery as I drive the M/H towing the CRV. Would this work? Anyone tried it?

RE: Goodyear G670's whats your experience?

I just bought a new 2008 Hurricane that came with G670s. Had a vibration between 52 and 57 mph. Had tires balanced and complete motorhome aligment. Still had the vibration. I jacked up the motorhome off the ground after running it a few miles. I spun the tires by hand and found that 5 out of the 6 tires were out of round. I am not happy with G670s!

RE: pulling a tracker

We pulled our Suzuki Sidekick (As you probably already know, the Tracker was a Suzuki Sidekick made for Chev) for over 50,000 miles with all 4 tires on the ground. It is a 2-WD 1997 short wheel base 5 spd stick. I put the trans in nutral, ACC, bungy loosly from under seat to steering wheel to prevent wheel lock-up on tight turns. I have never stopped to run the engine, even if I tow for multiple days. It has never given me any trouble. What a great tow car!!! Only 2340 lbs with a full tank of gas and the tow bar installed. 114,000 miles and only put a timing belt in it to make sure that the original one didn't break (the original belt didn't look bad when I took it out). I hope you like your Tracker as much as I have liked my Sidekick.

RE: Brake Buddy Vantage

This topic is timely for me since I am thinking of buying a Vantage Select for our 2008 Honda CRV toad. The comments regarding BB's customer service being bad have made me reconsider that purchase. And the reliability must be poor if it took 3 units to finally get one that worked correctly. Hmmmmm?
Does anyone else have experience with the new Select model (The more inputs, the better)?
Also, does anyone know what the delay time is between applying the motorhome brakes vs when the Select applies the toad brakes?

RE: 5er to Class A for the Family. Worth it?

You were interested in insurance for a motorhome. We just bought a new 2008 32' Hurricane motorhome. We are paying $548/year for excellent insurance.

How many tow with GM 6L gasser?

If you tow with a Chev/GMC 6L gas engine:
1) How much weight do you tow?
2) Do you tow mainly on flat ground or also over mountain passes?
3) If steep hills, is that engine adequate?
4) What mileage do you get towing?
5) What mileage when not towing?

RE: Number of gears in Ford trans

I currently have a 1998 Class C with the 4 spd trans. When it down shifts from 4th to 3rd, everything is fine. When it down shifts on very steep hills from 3rd to 2nd, the engine sounds like it is reving very high (there is no tacometer). Does the newer 5 spd trans solve this problem?

Number of gears in Ford trans

I am thinking of buying a newer used Class C on a Ford chassis. Does anyone know what the first year was that the 5 speed transmission came on Ford-based motorhomes? Is there such a thing as a 6 speed Ford trans in a Class C?
